Jim Page, 69, died January 21, 2010. He was born June 15, 1940 in Nebraska. He grew up in Manhattan Beach, Calif. and attended Mira Costa High School. He married his high school sweetheart on April 8, 1960 and they both were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
He worked in construction from the age of 15 until he retired in 1999. His work moved him and his family to many places along the west coast and Hawaii. Jim and Lani moved from Costa Mesa to Fallbrook in 1995.
He will always be remembered as an outgoing, dedicated, hardworking and loving husband, father and friend. He has touched many hearts and lives over the years. Jim taught us all how to work hard…and play harder. He was the “go-to-guy” for many of us and it will be difficult without him here.
Some of Jim’s favorite pastimes included street rods, NASCAR, horse racing and watching his grandson play football, but his favorite was just hanging out in his garage, drinking Bud and shooting the breeze with his friends and family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Leilani; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Martin Krussel and Shelly and Greg Powers; grandchildren, Brooke, Chris and Anna; his great friend of 55 years, Frank; his “2nd wife,” Phyllis; and special family, Kathy, Johnny, Trev and Brina; and of course his loyal companion, Hapa.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at “The Barn” on Saturday, February 20 at 1 p.m.
Donations to the American Cancer Society and the ALS Association are welcomed.
