Regarding Jerri Patchett’s appeal for funds for 4th of July fireworks - maybe economic belt tightening isn’t all bad. It forces people who manage shrinking budgets to separate goats from the sheep.

It appears that sponsors from previous years finally realized it doesn’t make sense to convert thousands of dollars into 15-to-18 minutes of noise and smoke pollution while putting our fire-prone environment at risk.
