Leland "Lee" Hurty

Leland “Lee” Hurty, age 69, peacefully passed away on Jan. 24, 2010, at his residence in San Marcos, Calif. Lee was married for 34 years to his loving wife Patricia. A memorial service will be held on Feb. 13, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 125 W. Hawthorne St. Fallbrook.

Born March 10, 1940, he graduated from Fallbrook High School in 1958. Lee joined the Fallbrook Fire Department in September 1968 and retired as an Engineer in December 1996. Lee will be remembered for his years devoted to being “Smokey Bear” for the annual fire prevention activities in the local schools. He was...
