Svendsen joins Riverview Evangelical Free Church

BONSALL – Mel Svendsen has joined the staff as Lead Teaching Pastor of Riverview Evangelical Free Church in Bonsall. Pastor Mel trained at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and has over 25 years in ministry. He holds a Masters of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity Seminary and is nearing completion of his Ph.D in Religious Education from Trinity.

Svendsen said he is “thrilled” to serve as the new pastor at Riverview Church and believes that his calling is “to love God, to love God’s Word, and to love God’s people.” He teaches every Sunday with an emphasis on understanding what the Bible says and practically applying it to everyday situations and problems.

He and his wife Barbara have six children, Joelle, Brieanna, Mandy, Caden, Brady and Capri, ages ranging from18 yrs. to 8 months old.
