Man killed in Bonsall fire identified, age corrected

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's office has now released the identity and corrected the age of the man that perished in Bonsall when the mobile home he was living in caught fire.

Irwin Jerry Madow, age 90, of Bonsall died inside his residence in the 31000 block of Aquaduct Road in Bonsall on Monday, March 15 at approximately 7:35 a.m.

"[Madow] had been inside his residence when for unknown reasons at the time, his residence became fully engulfed in flames," authorities said. " 911 was called by surrounding neighbors and when fire department personnel were able to gain access into the home, he was found deceased inside."

His cause of death was due to third and fourth degree thermal burns and inhalation of products of combustion and has been deemed an accident.

80 year old Bonsall resident killed in trailer fire

BONSALL - A senior citizen was killed this morning in a fire that engulfed a single- wide trailer in a rural North County community, authorities reported.

The blaze in the 31000 block of Rancho Amigos Road in the Bonsall area was reported shortly after 7:30 a.m., according to Cal Fire.

While extinguishing the flames, crews found the body of a man believed to be 80 years old, sheriff's Lt. Harold Turner said. The victim's name was not immediately available.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

A person died early this morning when a fire burnt down a single-wide trailer in Bonsall, said Cal Fire Battalion Chief Nick Schuler.

According to Schuler, the fire in the 31000 block of Rancho Amigos was reported at 7:36 a.m.

“At least 20 firefighters responded to the scene, and were heavily involved in fighting the fire” he said. “Unfortunately, they did find one individual in the trailer.”

At this time, it is unknown if the individual was a male or female, or what the cause of the fire was.

Schuler does not believe other homes were affected by the fire.
