Exercises at Naval Weapons Station could mean traffic, access delays Mar. 22-26

FALLBROOK - Exercise Solid Curtain 2010 will be conducted on naval bases and installations throughout the continental United States from March 22-26, 2010. Personnel from Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach Detachment Fallbrook (also known as the Fallbrook Naval Weapons Station) will be taking part in this exercise.

Solid Curtain 2010 is not in response to any specific threat but is a regularly-scheduled exercise. This annual exercise was developed to enhance the training and readiness of Navy security personnel to respond to threats to installations and units.

Measures have been taken to avoid disruptions to normal base and station operations, but there may be times when the exercise causes increased traffic around bases or delays in base access. The installation’s Ammunition Road gates may be impacted, and area residents may also see increased security activity associated with the exercise.

For the latest information on current access restrictions to the base, the 24-hour command status line can be reached at (562) 626-6000.
