FALLBROOK – On April 10 and 11, from 1 to 4 p.m., the Fallbrook Historical Society at 260 Rocky Crest, will be displaying rotogravures of California Indians from the Curtis collection.
In the early 1900’s, Edward S. Curtis (1862-1952) took over 40,000 images and recorded rare ethnographic information from more than 80 American Indian tribal groups. In 1978, Jane Rosequist, a local artist and collector, donated to the Fallbrook Historical Society, “The North American Indian” portfolios 14 and 15, and for 32 years they have been tucked away on a shelf.
