Hornsvelds to be honored at Film Festival

FALLBROOK—Patty Hornsveld and her husband, Hank, owners of the historic Mission Theatre in Fallbrook and CAST Productions will be presented with the Fallbrook Film Festival’s first annual Patron of the Arts award which will be presented to those who have contributed much to the arts community of Fallbrook/Bonsall.

Hornsveld has been interested in acting since she was a youth and said, “I was fascinated with the world of make-believe, as I called it then, and I learned early on that whatever I do, I need to do it well - whether that be acting a role or building the scenery. “

In 1991, she saw the need for an avenue of performing arts for children and she decided, with her husband’s blessing, to form the Children’s Acting School & Theatre (CAST), a 501c3 non-profit organization. In 1993, the Hornsvelds purchased the Mission Theatre. CAST is no longer just for children, but has grown into a community theatre organization with dance, music, acting and performing opportunities for people of all ages.

The award will be presented during the Film Festival awards ceremony held at the Ultra-Star Cinemas in Bonsall River Village from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. It is open to VIP and awards ceremony ticket holders only. Seating availability is limited. Check http://www.fallbrookfilmfestival.com for further information.
