4-H members succeed in fashion challenge

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook 4-H

had five participants go to the countywide 4-H Art and Design Day, held in Poway on March 27. Lindley Mason, Genevieve Mason, Caroline Kornelsen, Sydney Kornelsen, and Mallory Rosol wore the vests that they sewed for the Fashion Review Challenge.

The goal is for all 4-Hers to use the same required pattern, in this case Simplicity 4762, and create an item using their sewing skills and creativity. They then model the vests along with an outfit they create around it for the modeling part of the Fashion Review.

Caroline, Lindley, and Genevieve all won county medals while Sydney and Mallory won blue ribbons. Genevieve, Lindley, and Caroline will now be going to 4-H State Field Day on May 29 to show their work.
