Life Coach - Wisdom from the Proverbs

“He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will find good.”

-Proverbs 19:8

Wisdom and understanding are often paired together and sometimes given similar meanings such as knowledge, insight, perception, astuteness, intelligence and good judgment. Wisdom can also include what to do with knowledge. Wisdom shows us how to apply that knowledge with the best strategy to take the current situation into the future for maximum results.

When we have understanding it can be said that we have a good grasp of a subject. When we fully understand something and apply wisdom we can find good. In other words, when we have a good grasp of a matter and apply a wise strategy it will produce a good result.

What is the opposite of this proverb? Acting without knowledge and not considering a wise approach can lead to something harmful to our soul. When and why do we act in such a way? Often it is when we are in a hurry, when we are under pressure, when we are lazy or just don’t care. Who suffers under these circumstances? Most likely we do because our carelessness can impact us negatively, and on occasion may harm others as well.

Action: Let us seek understanding and apply wisdom to produce a good result.
