FALLBROOK – AAUW’s AVID students were offered free airplane rides by the Young Eagles program in Fallbrook. Six Fallbrook High School girls were able to fly individually with a pilot circling around the general area of the airport. The pilot let them take the control briefly to see what it is like to pilot their own plane. This was the first flying experience for most of the girls.
The Young Eagles program began in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 to 17, an opportunity fly in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of the program’s members.
