Fallbrook Hospice honors volunteers

FALLBROOK - On Wednesday, April 21, Fallbrook Hospice honored its volunteers by hosting a luncheon in their honor at the Hukilau Restaurant at the Fallbrook Golf Club as part of National Volunteer Week.

“Our volunteers are the heart and sole of Fallbrook Hospice,” said Susan Greenley, MSW, volunteer coordinator. “There is not one employee or department, patient or family who is not touched in some way by a hospice volunteer. Our organization and the patients and families we serve are blessed to have each one of our volunteers and we are thankful for everything they do.”

The luncheon was attended by hospice volunteers; Dr. Daniel Manring, medical director; Pat Smorzewski, RN and agency director/administrator; Ann Manring, RN, clinical supervisor; Mike Patton, chaplain and other agency clinicians, home health aides and staff. A special award was given to Dorothy Bobitch for giving 11 years of volunteer service.

Fallbrook Hospice offers compassionate care to patients and their families who are managing the journey through a life-limiting illness or injury in the comfort of their own home.
