Foundation for Senior Care receives donation

FALLBROOK – The Foundation for Senior Care recently received an updated and much needed Premier telephone system and a nine-foot board room table and chairs generously donated by Prudential California Realty. Donation of the items was facilitated by Foundation board member and Prudential California Realty agent Marilee Lowe.

“Thanks to the generosity of Prudential California Realty for donating an entire phone system and to Mills Communications, Inc., who agreed to install the phone system at no charge, the Foundation for Senior Care will move forward in serving the needs of the community far more efficiently,” said Dotty Metcalf, the Foundation’s Executive Director. “Both the phone system and the board room table and chairs are a welcome and much needed improvement to the way we conduct business.”

Clients calling the Foundation are presently greeted by a “virtual receptionist” or prerecorded message directing the caller as to how they can reach the person or program they are seeking. The current goal is to build a volunteer base of 10 or more live receptionists willing to donate four hours per week answering incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate person or program.

“This is a terrific volunteer prospect for those people looking for an opportunity to serve,” said Bob Halibozek, chairman of the board’s volunteer committee.

The Foundation is a non-profit whose mission is to “promote community health and well-being by assessing, creating, promoting and funding programs to solve health issues important to seniors in our communities.”
