Spitball – an American game

In the game of baseball

Few can hit

But they all have the skill

To chew and spit

They’re a poor example

For our wonderful youth

When they show off a habit

That’s so uncouth

Large of cheek

And brownish lip

There’s dirty ground

Where many spit

The solution?

A commissioner’s edict

Without any waivers

“Switch to gumdrops!

They come in all flavors!”
