FALLBROOK – Local piano technician Brian Janey was among more than 700 attendees who attended an international convention and educational institute in Las Vegas June 26 to 30.
The 53rd Annual Piano Technician’s Guild Convention and Technical Institute featured classes, award ceremonies, a trade show and entertainment. The overall impression was one of optimism about the future of the piano industry.
“Things are getting better,” said Allan Gilreath, president of the Piano Technician’s Guild. “Many challenges remain, but with challenges come opportunities.” Gilreath said that the commitment that PTG members such as Janey make to continuing education is key to their continued success in the industry. The Piano Technicians Guild provides opportunities for professional development through its events.
