FALLBROOK – On the heels of last year’s winning season, for some reason this year’s JV girls basketball team had the smallest number of players that Coach Bill Hopkins says he can ever remember. To even be able to have a team, one player from varsity, Mckenna Wade, agreed to play JV for the year.
The small size of the team didn’t stop Hopkins and the little team from playing hard, and with heart. With two injuries at the beginning of the season, the team often had to play three or four players against the other teams’ five players. The other teams soon came to respect the JV Lady Braves, forgetting their team size when they realized playing against them wouldn’t be an easy win. The little team that never gave up ended up making it to the second round of the final playoffs.
