FALLBROOK - Hundreds of Fallbrook/Bonsall Village News and Temecula Valley News customers and readers of all ages turned out last Saturday in Fallbrook to hear Pato Banton -- one of the biggest headliners ever to appear locally -- as well as seven other bands.
“It was a really fun day,” said Julie Reeder, Elder House owner and president of Village News Inc. “People had a great time.”
Pato Banton talked repeatedly from the stage about how happy he was to visit Fallbrook for the first time and afterwards, in an email, wrote of his experience in Fallbrook: “The pleasure was all mine. I couldn’t have dreamed of having a better experience in Fallbrook!”
Bands ranged in genre from classic rock and Irish music to reggae. Robert Sommers of Blue Herron said, “What a great mellow crowd of all ages and races, all having a great time during a beautiful Fallbrook evening. To snag a performer this good for our little town was amazing. It was really magical and we had a great time with our friends.”
Village News is working with several local groups, including the Historic Downtown Merchants and the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce, to help bring more people to downtown Fallbrook on a regular basis.
