Do you also have a second insurance car, like AARP Secure Horizons? Well, I do too. Only to find out that Secure Horizons doesn’t complete Medicare – it replaces it, and you now pay Secure Horizons and Medicare. However, Medicare doesn’t pay any of the doctors or hospital bills.
My husband is a retired Marine and we have Tricare for Life. So, my husband, Roscoe has Medicare and Tricare for Life. When he goes to the doctor, he doesn’t pay a co-pay fee like I do with Secure Horizons.
Two years ago I was in the Escondido Care Facility (ECF) for several months. The ECF told me that Secure Horizons would only pay for so much and that we would have to pay the rest. Okay, we weren’t too smart! We didn’t check. When we did think to check with Secure Horizons, we found out ECF didn’t bill Secure Horizons or Tricare, but said they did. We paid on that bill for two years before we checked.
So, please, check what you have. You may be paying too much for insurance also.
I hope this helps someone.
