Rose Marie (Fritschen) Beyer passed away at home in Fallbrook, Calif., Thursday, August 5, 2010. She was born in her home near the town of Spencer in Eastern South Dakota on February 6, 1931. She attended St. Peter’s grade school in Farmer, S.D., and graduated from Farmer High School with the class of 1949.
She worked for Bell Telephone in Mitchell, Rushmore Mutual Ins. Co. in Rapid City and the Rapid City Journal. She was married to Tom Beyer on April 14, 1953 in Farmer. She made many moves all over the country with Tom and their family when he worked in oil exploration for Texaco from 1954 to 1990.
She is survived by son Pat Beyer, his wife Jan and their children Ben and Trevor; son Dan Beyer, his wife Susan and their children Jennifer and Ryan; and son-in-law Joe Padilla and his children Melissa and Tommy. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jeanne Padilla in 2004.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Thursday, August 12 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
