Pala Band of Mission Indians donates to Angel's Depot

PALA – The Pala Band of Mission Indians announced last week that it will be sponsoring the fourth annual “Day at the Races,” at the Del Mar racetrack, a fundraiser for Angel’s Depot, host of the event.

The “Day at the Races” festivities will take place in the Il Palio Turf Club at 4 p.m. on August 13.The sponsorship includes a $2,500 donation, which will go toward providing meal boxes for seniors living in poverty in San Diego County.

“The Angel’s Depot has been a reliable and generous source of senior citizen assistance programs for several years in San Diego County,” said Robert H. Smith, Chairman of the Pala Band of Mission Indians. “Seniors in our community, especially those with little means of financial support, deserve our attention and care. The Pala Band of Mission Indians is proud to work with The Angel’s Depot to aid these noble efforts and to advance such a worthy cause.”

The Angel’s Depot promotes community integration efforts to help impoverished seniors restore their sense of dignity. They also inform the elderly about the resources and services that they are eligible to receive.

A free “Soft Pack” Indie Rock Concert can be enjoyed after the races by all who attend.
