FALLBROOK - The Rotary Club of Fallbrook welcomed two very special guests at a recent weekly club meeting: Father Bonaventure, director and chancellor of the Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital, Mbarara, Uganda, and Lane Freestone, co-founder and director.
Introduced by Rotarian Herb Baker, the guests provided Rotarians with an update on the new hospital there and thanked the Fallbrook club for their part in making hope a reality. Using a slide show, Freestone gave an up-to-date overview of the successes and challenges being met at the Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital. The hospital, built last year, has admitted over 4,000 patients, and treated more than 15,000 children as outpatients.
Father Bonaventure said he came to the Rotary meeting to speak on behalf of the countless number of children who could not be there personally to say “thank you.” For more information, visit http://www.fallbrookrotary.org.
