Raiders kick off base's football season with shut-out

Cheering fans crowded the sidelines for Camp Pendleton’s 2010 tackle-football opening game at the 11 Area football field, Aug. 10.

The Edison Range “Raiders” set the tone of their season with a 6-0 shut-out against the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego “Titans.”

The game opened with the kickoff to the Raiders who were quickly stopped by the Titans, turning the strength in the opposite direction and forcing a punt. But the Raiders eventually scored the only points for the game at the end of the first quarter.
