Bonsall appreciates local "first responders"

For the tenth consecutive year, the Bonsall Chamber of Commerce recognized the efforts put forth by those individuals known as “first responders” to emergency situations in the community, on Sept. 9. Formerly known as the Sheriff’s and CHP Appreciation Day, the annual event was started in September 2000 under the organization of community volunteer Mary Jane Poulter.

Poulter initiated the event to recognize individuals stationed out of the Bonsall Sheriff’s storefront, and the event was such a success it was expanded to include Sheriff’s Senior Volunteers and the California Highway Patrol.
