Brad Urquhart won the first heat race of his auto racing career August 28 in the Pure Stocks race at Barona Speedway.
The Fallbrook driver also led for approximately half of the main event before losing the lead shortly after a yellow flag and then being sent to the back after being hit from behind. He passed enough cars after being sent to the back to finish 14th.
“It was almost a perfect fairy tale night,” Urquhart said. “It was thrilling for me to win my first race.”
