RAINBOW – Daughters of Norway Hulda Garborg Lodge #49 installed its new officers on Sept. 11. Grand Lodge Judge Mary Knutson Sullivan flew down from Oregon to conduct the installation a little over a year after she instituted the new lodge on Aug. 29, 2009.
Upcoming programs at the lodge’s meetings include a rosemaling lesson on Oct. 9 with member Lynne Bradley as instructor. Rosemaling (rose painting) is a style of folk art developed in Norway. On Nov. 13, member Janna Armbruster will teach the art of making lefse, a Norwegian flatbread made with potatoes, similar to a tortilla.
