Volunteers build homes for birds

Fallbrook residents Ben and Bruce Eklund build a bird shelter during a National Public Lands Day event at Naval Weapons Station Fallbrook on Sept.25. Scout troops, community members and Navy personnel built over 40 homes for bats, owls and other birds during the event.
