SAN DIEGO – Don’t let an accident or fire destroy this holiday for the little “trick or treaters.” Children will be dressed in strange and scary costumes, and many of the costumes could catch fire easily warns Cal Fire.
Self-made costumes of rayon, nylon and other materials burn rapidly. Never allow children to carry lit candles, or pumpkins with candles in them, use a flashlight instead. A fire can start in a careless moment, but the burns will last a lifetime.
Have a happy, fire-safe Halloween.
