I am amazed at the selfishness, lawlessness, and lack of concern for safety displayed by parents when dropping off/picking up students at Fallbrook High.
Some parents get in line and park all along the red curb on Stagecoach to pick kids up in front of the school, instead of following the rules and using the designated safe waiting area in the parking lot.
This causes a backup of vehicles along Mission Road because other drivers don’t know if there is a big gap in traffic in front of them, some choose to break the law, illegally enter the turning lane to pass on the left side, or sit there for 15 minutes until their little darling decides to get in the car.
If you do sit there, you will see selfish parents picking up kids they are training to disobey the law by making U-turns in the middle of the road in front of oncoming traffic. They don’t even wait until there is a break in oncoming traffic. They turn in front of people.
There are also parents who park in the dirt across the street and make their kids jaywalk in front of oncoming traffic; and those who stop in the middle of the street (in traffic) and risk their kids’ lives by having them trot through traffic to get into the car.
It is just unbelievable. No wonder some kids don’t respect the law.
Someone needs to do something. What a mess.
