RIVERSIDE - County supervisors today approved a measure prohibiting new housing developments in areas of the Santa Rosa Plateau west of Murrieta and Temecula to preserve the hillsides while new zoning regulations are worked out.
''We're not going to stop developments (altogether),'' said Supervisor Jeff Stone. ''We just need to implement some important standards to ensure that any structures won't exceed the ridgeline, but will have aesthetic and blend into the topography of the area.''
