Regarding my “Incredible Shrinking Republican Party” letter from a year and a half ago, it’s still true: both in terms of traditional moderate Republicans getting out and being taken over by Tea Party types, who could have some influence on American politics, if they nominate grown-ups, instead of jokes like Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell.

The trouble with both parties is that they go to Washington and immediately become corrupt. Even Rand Paul, whose father I sincerely admire, has said since being elected he’ll, “fight for Kentucky’s share of earmarks and federal pork.”
