"Bomb house" burn slated for Thursday; will cause closure of I-15 from 9 a.m. to noon, authorities say

It appears that involved agencies were notified this afternoon that the burning of the home located at 1954 Via Scott in Escondido, discovered to contain the largest cache of bomb-making materials ever discovered on U.S. soil, will most likely occur Thursday, December 9.

The destruction project, deemed the "only way to render the property safe again" by experts is expected to cause an approximate three-hour closure of both the northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 15 from Deer Springs Road on the north end to Valley Parkway on the south.
