FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Chorale, under the direction of Art Blodgett, is putting the finishing touches on its annual Christmas gift of music to the community.
This year’s concert, ‘Christmas Lights,’ scheduled for Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts, is sure to brighten the spirits of all who attend, with a program of Christmas favorites, both sacred and secular.
The chorale, accompanied by pianist Jean Dixon, drummer John Will, and guitarist Mark Phelps, will perform vocal arrangements by composers Mark Hayes, Greg Gilpin, J. Daniel Smith, Camp Kirkland, Ruth Elaine Schram, and George Frideric Handel.
Vocal ensembles, quartets, trios, duets, and soloists from the group will also be featured.
A four-handed piano selection will be performed by Jean Dixon and chorale member Barbara Jarnes. A stringed Fallbrook Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Elizabeth Monacelli, will complete the program.
Refreshments will be available at intermission and there will be an opportunity drawing for two fabulous gift baskets at the end of the program.
Tickets may be purchased in advance at Major Market or from any chorale member for $12 each; tickets at the door will be $15. Student price is $8. Active duty military and children under the age of 12 will be
admitted free.
Anyone interested in joining the Fallbrook Chorale is welcome to begin practicing with the group (after the holidays) on Feb. 15, 2011, 7 p.m., at Community Baptist Church for the group’s summer concert.
