80-year-old motorcycle driver transported to Palomar after head-on collision

An 80-year-old motorcycle driver was transported to Palomar hospital after his motorcycle drifted into oncoming traffic in the early morning of November 30.

David Greaney, Jr., from Poway, was driving his 2005 Honda Goldwing westbound on E. Mission Rd., just east of Stage Coach Lane going an unknown speed at approximately 4:44 a.m.

According to California Highway Patrol officer Eric Newbury, Greaney’s vehicle hit a 1999 gray Toyota Corolla being driven eastbound by Eulalia Domingo Matteo, a 27-year-old Fallbrook resident.

Upon impact, Greaney broke both of his legs. CHP shut the roadway, while the emergency responders responded to the scene.

Newbury stated that Matteo was not injured, and it was unknown as to why Greanley swerved into oncoming traffic. Alcohol or drugs were not determined to be a factor.
