Even the Grinch (Sgt. Michael Flores) had a good time with Santa (Cpl. Thomas Crawford), Sgt. Erin Siekman and the Marines of Combat Logistics Battalion 1 and their families at a Christmas party held on Camp Pendleton Friday, December 3. Local volunteers cooked and served dinner to the families and provided bags of toys for the children. The battalion is scheduled for deployment next month.
CAMP PENDLETON – On Friday, December 3, volunteers from Fallbrook and the surrounding area provided a Christmas party, gifts, and toys for the Marines of Combat Logistics Battalion 1 and their families.
Local residents Joan Hainey, Phil Forbes, MaryAnn Hillery, Nancy McSheehy, Debbie Forbe, Andrew Genninger and volunteers from the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift store were among the volunteer crew.
The event was made possible through a coalition of church groups, a Cub Scout troop from Costa Mesa, and others.
