Keeping holidays fire safe

SAN DIEGO COUNTY – This holiday is the most joyous of all the holidays, but the celebrating and happiness can be destroyed in a moment by fire. This holiday season residents can take a few minutes to prevent a fire in their home.

Cal Fire advises everyone to check each string of lights carefully for loose connections, exposed or frayed wires and to use care when attaching the lights to the tree. No one should ever put candles on their tree. Also, candles should be kept away from decorations and curtains.
