SAN DIEGO - A stronger, colder trough of low pressure from the northwest brought numerous heavy showers to San Diego County early today, hammering a region that has already been saturated with several inches of rainfall since last Friday.
The unusually wet storm pattern has dropped upwards of almost 3.5 inches of moisture along the coast, as much as 4.9 inches in the valleys and nearly 12 inches in some mountain areas, National Weather Service meteorologists said.
