Emergency crews from North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD), CalFire, Camp Pendleton Fire, and Oceanside Swiftwater Rescue teamed up to rescue two individuals from their vehicle, which was caught up in a swift water current in De Luz.
According to North County Fire public information officer John Buchanan, the incident occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, near the 2100 block of De Luz Murrieta Road.
“The individuals went around the closed road signs set out, and got stuck,” said Buchanan. “The individuals, who were both adults, were stuck out there for four hours.”
