I read Mr. Sommers’ article with great interest. I am a former Fallbrookian (17 years) and found a fair amount of truth in it.

During our years in Fallbrook, we attempted to shop “downtown,” but much to our chagrin, the shops were closed on the weekends. I don’t recall a single weekend when the local shops were open. We shopped Fallbrook for a few items but always found the prices were inflated as one could travel to the WalMarts, K-Marts and beat the local prices.
