Fig tree splits after rainstorm

Some of the damage caused by recent storms can be seen on the west side of Carl's Jr., at S. Mission and Ammunition, where pieces of the Morton Bay fig tree (ficus macrophylla) cover the ground after part of the trunk split from the tree the week of Dec. 20.
