FALLBROOK – Mary Harrington was recently honored by the Monserate Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) for being a member of DAR for 50 years. Over that period of time, she said she has seen many changes in the Society. Hats, gloves and dresses were the required attire for attending a meeting in prior years.
The goals of DAR haven’t changed: patriotism, education and historical preservation. Harrington has served as first vice regent, regent and on several committees. She is presently American flag chairman and remains very active in the society.
Monserate Chapter meets on the third Thursday of the month, October through May at the Vista Valley Country Club. For more information, contact Beverlee Stuart-Borok, (951) 325-8807
