Woman's Club celebrates 90th anniversary of women's right to vote

BONSALL - At a recent GFWC-CFWC Palomar District meeting in Bonsall, Ayn Bryant, first vice president of the Fallbrook Woman’s Club, portrayed Lucy Burns, one of the early 1920’s suffragettes in a skit to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the nineteenth amendment to the Constitution which gave women the right to vote. Others that participated in the skit included Oceanside Woman’s Club member Carolyn “Doc” Hensel, the District’s women’s history and resource chairman, who portrayed early suffragette Alice Paul; and Lillian Shine, president of the Carlsbad Woman’s Club, who portrayed Carrie Chapman Catt.
