Working the overlap to keep Fallbrook safe

Being a deputy assigned to the Fallbrook Sheriff’s substation requires hard work and dedication, but to be truly outstanding, one must make the safety of the community a distinct priority. The Vista Elks Lodge has recognized one such individual, Deputy James McConnaughey, for his hard work and commitment and will honor him as the Fallbrook Deputy of the Year at a Law Enforcement Appreciation dinner Jan. 27.

McConnaughey, 35, has been working as a deputy for 12 years, and was assigned to the Encinitas area before being transferred to Fallbrook 2-1/2 years ago.
