Border Patrol detains two; opens investigation

Border Patrol agents are currently conducting an investigation after a consensual encounter in Fallbrook the morning of Jan. 21 led to the detention of two individuals in the country without legal documentation.

According to Border Patrol agent Jerry Conlin, at approximately 9 a.m. that morning a border patrol vehicle was at a gas station near the intersection of Interstate 15 and State Route 76 when the agent had a “consensual encounter” with another vehicle at the station. During the encounter, one individual, who had been in the vehicle, left the scene, but was not stopped by the agent.
