If you enjoy the trees, please support the effort

For the past weeks we have enjoyed the beauty that our trees have brought to downtown Fallbrook. Fifteen years ago Save Our Forest (SOF) began seeking sites to plant trees. Now, 2,609 trees later, we are enjoying the fruit of our labor. I hope you are too.

Following the palette of trees started when the Village Square was developed, the two varieties of Pear trees that have been so spectacular this year were the main stay of the project. Of course, many other varieties have been planted, but all add to the ambiance of our Friendly Village.

It is costly to maintain these trees now too large for volunteers to handle. However, community donations have made it possible every year. As an unincorporated community, Fallbrook receives no support from the County of San Diego for routine pruning or maintenance. It is up to you and me to keep our community forest in good shape.

Save Our Forest always needs volunteer help. Volunteers to help with two work parties per month and Tree Stewards to adopt a particular tree are always needed. Help us if you can. Volunteer or make a donation to support the costs. Call the Fallbrook Land Conservancy, the SOF parent organization, at (760) 728-0889 to find out how.
