The cost of freedom

The U.S. government spends nearly $250,000,000 every year on libraries throughout the United States, an amount equal to what we spend in Iran and Afghanistan each day.

What a waste. If we canceled the library waste, we could have an extra day of war.

Fallbrook has a new $11.5 million, 20,000 square foot library. What a waste. If we had spent that properly, we could have had another 66 minutes of war. The new Congress is right: we must cut wasteful domestic spending, but not the war budget.

We can do without libraries and schools, but people in Afghanistan cannot do without their freedom, which...
