Children can cause fires

SAN DIEGO COUNTY – Somewhere a child is about to learn the pain a match or lighter can cause. Cal Fire needs everyone’s help to prevent child-caused fires. Parents of young children need to take the time to teach them that matches and lighters are tools, not toys.

Unlike cigarettes, matches do not come with a warning. People should always keep matches and lighters out of the reach of small children. Remember a match lasts only a few seconds, but the scars can last a lifetime. Be fire safe, not sorry!...
