Fallbrook sees downward trend in average crimes per month; plateau noted in FBI index crimes

Fallbrook’s crime has begun a downward trend, according to SANDAG statistics for 2010.

According to Lt. Mike Barnett, commander of the Fallbrook Sheriff’s substation, Fallbrook, De Luz, Bonsall and Rainbow had the same exact number of FBI index crimes (972) as in 2009.

“[FBI index] crimes include murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault (including domestic violence), residential burglary, and auto theft,” said Barnett. “It’s remarkable that the statistics came out this way, but we are on a downward trend that has been apparent since about midyear.”
