Former Marine convicted of first-degree murder for death of Oceanside man

VISTA - A former Camp Pendleton Marine was convicted today of first-degree murder in the beating and stabbing death of an Oceanside man who was killed because restoration work on the defendant's classic car wasn't finished on time.

Raphael Ramey, 21, faces life in prison without parole when sentenced March 14 by Vista Judge Joan Weber.

In addition to murder, jurors found that the Aug. 23, 2009, murder of 23- year-old Charles Evan Williams, who was stabbed and slashed more than 50 times, involved torture.
