Library issues a call for artists

FALLBROOK – The new Fallbrook Library, a branch of the San Diego County Library, is requesting submissions for various exhibitions planned at the library for the upcoming year. The first show, which has already been selected, is a photography show called “My Fallbrook,” which opened Jan. 16.

The art selection committee is looking for two-dimensional works for the following shows.

“Watercolor Images of North County,” (expected opening date is March 8),

will depict the variety that exists in northern San Diego County, from the mountains, deserts, towns and ocean to the people and the lifestyles. Submission deadline is Feb. 11

“Wildlife Art,” (expected opening date of April 27), will explore wildlife, reaching from America to the rest of the world. All two dimensional media welcome including photography. Submission deadline is April 1.

“America: One Nation, Many Voices,” (expected opening date of June 7), is designed to illustrate the multitude of contributions to our national heritage by people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Submission deadline is May 13.

All interested persons are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to Southern California residents. Submissions should appeal to diverse populations and ages, reflect community interests, be representative of diverse cultures and points of view and support local cultural activity.

The Fallbrook Branch Library Art Selection Committee will meet periodically to jury select future exhibits. To apply, submit digital pictures along with contact information at
