Speaker to address Garden Club Feb. 22

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Garden Club will welcome landscape designer Doug Kalal as the speaker at its next meeting on Tues., Feb. 22, at the Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane.

A graduate of the renowned horticultural program at Cuyamaca College, Kalal has been giving lectures and designing gardens for five years. He believes that using drought-tolerant plants not only reduces water intake but cuts down on carbon emissions by eliminating the need for mowing and trimming grass. These plants are also of great benefit to birds and butterflies.
